What can I expect on my first visit?
We are located on Republic Road between Kansas Expy and Campell Ave. We have a large parking lot behind the auditorium building with special reserved lots for our first time guests. As you approach the main worship center, one of our hospitality greeters will meet you and direct you to the right classes and services. They can also answer other questions you may have.
Beginning at 9:00, there are Adult Bible Classes. These classes are smaller group settings where you are invited to meet people, enjoy perhaps some coffee and donuts, and hear a lesson more directly applicable to your life-stage. The best way to get to know people at Park Crest is to visit one of these adult Bible classes.
The main worship service starts at 10:15. The music is a blend contemporary and traditional and is designed to bring praise to God and speak to hearts. The music is followed by a clear, helpful, and challenging Bible message from Pastor Phil. This service is a little over one hour in length.
Where do I take my children?
Starting with excellent nurseries, there is something special for every age child. At every service there are safe, clean, and highly staffed nurseries for children three years old and under. For the infants, mothers will receive a pager so that the nursery attendants can easily contact you if there is a need. For children four years old through sixth grade there are fun, friendly, and Bible-centered classes. These classes are staffed with trained, friendly, and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child.
Our campus has a lot of buildings, which to a guest can seem overwhelming at first. It's not as complicated as it looks, and we would like to help you find the appropriate nurseries, classes, and services for every person in your family. Our greeters are located around campus as well as in the lobby of the main worship center and will gladly help direct and even escort you to the right place.
What about my teens?
Our teenagers meet in the Student Ministry Building (SMB). The junior high and high school meet separately. The teens attend a class for one hour and then join the main worship service at 10:15.
How should I dressThere is not a dress code at Park Crest for members or guests. Some people choose to dress in their "Sunday best", and some will be in very casual dress. Our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at Park Crest.
Who is Pastor Housley?
Phil and Stephanie Housley met and married while attending Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO. Throughout the last 22 years of ministry, the road has been a steady path. From Youth Pastor to Associate Pastor to Senior Pastor.
The Spring of 2009, Pastor Phil was asked to return as Senior Pastor for Park Crest Baptist Church where Phil had previously worked for 10 years as Associate.
Am I Expected to Participate in the Offering?
No. We don't invite you to Park Crest for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God's Word, and a place where you can grow in God's grace. Please don't feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.
If there's something we missed on this list, just give us a call, or ask someone when you arrive. Whether you're new to the area and looking for a church home, or if it's been a long time since you've attended church at all, we hope your first visit will be great! We exist to serve you and your family, and we are looking forward to meeting you personally. We hope you'll feel right at home from the very first moment you step onto campus! Let us know how we can serve you better, and we hope to meet you this Sunday!
